Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures

Drop Off Procedures:

  • Students are allowed to arrive between 7:45 am and 8:00 am for school.   They will remain on the playground until they line up when the bell rings at 8:00 am. This is especially important this year from a health standpoint. There is no supervision on the playgrounds before 7:45 am. K-1 grade students will play on the East playground before school, and 2nd-5th grade students will play on the West playground before school. Students will then enter through designated doors with their teachers.

  • There is supervision on the playground 15 minutes before school and for 10 minutes in the loading zones after school. If children are present at other times, they are not supervised, and this would be an unsafe situation.  We appreciate your support in this shared concern for the safety of our students. 

  • Only students eating school breakfast may enter the east commons doors between 7:30-8:00 am. Breakfast will be served in the commons.

  • Students who arrive after 8:00 am must enter the east commons door and check in at the temporary office for a tardy slip. 

Pick Up Procedures: 
To help ensure a safe and efficient dismissal process, please review the following pick-up procedures. Refer to the accompanying map for pick-up zone locations.

πŸš— GRADE LEVEL PICK-UP ZONESπŸš—

Kindergarten β€” Pick up your child from the teachers at the Kindergarten Door. (Door 2 on the East Playground)

1st Grade β€” Pick-up along the East side of the school. Students will be along the building between the main entrance sidewalk and the sidewalk to the East Playground. 

2nd Grade β€” Pick-up along the North side of the school. Students will be in the outdoor learning area. 

3rd Grade β€” Pick-up at the Northwest field. Students will be by the crosswalk on W 18th Street to the west of the staff parking lot entrance. 

4th Grade β€” Pick-up on the Southeast side of the field. Students will be at the gate near the crosswalk on W 16th Street. 

5th Grade β€” Pick-up at the Southwest side of the field. Students will be at the gate near the crosswalk on W 16th Street.

πŸ’‘ HELPFUL TIPS

  • If you have students in multiple grades, please pick one student up at a time in their designated areas. 
  • A teacher and paraprofessional will be present in each zone to help supervise students as they wait for their ride.
  • Please do not park or stop in the middle of the street. We will not allow students to cross/enter the street except at the crosswalks. 
  • School dismissal is at 3:15. Teachers and paras will wait with students until 3:25 PM. Any students not picked up by then will be taken to the office to call parents.
